수준높은 무용을 접할 수 있는 페스티벌의 계절 가을이 돌아왔다. 뉴욕에서는 9월 말부터 12월 초까지 가장 많은 무용 페스티벌을 접할 수 있다. 이 페스티벌에서는 유명한 무용팀들부터 작은 소규모 개인 공연팀까지 다양하고, 많은 수의 무용단이 페스티벌에 참가하여 초연작부터 대표작품까지 폭넓게 선보인다. 그러므로, 이 페스티벌을 통해 최근 무용의 흐름이나 각 무용단의 스타일을 가장 확실하게 느낄 수 있는 큰 장점이 있다. 실제로 우리나라를 포함한 세계의 공연기획자들이 이 페스티벌을 돌아다니면서 자신의 나라에서 공연할 팀을 선발하는 경우도 많다. 예술의 흐름이 가장 빠르게 움직이는 뉴욕의 장점을 잘 활용하여 새롭고, 수준 높은 무용공연을 접할 수 있는 기회를 잡기 바란다.
